Gold beads
Although there are many aesthetic uses for gold beads,
one of the more meaningful uses for gold beads that is being explored
is the use that would allow a doctor to treat people who have osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis is one of the most common diagnoses made in general practice.
It is often seen in older people and causes disability. Even though
acupuncture has been done for years to help treat people with this condition,
it has been found that the acupuncture treatment only offers temporary
relief and must be treated often.
For several years, veterinarians have used gold beads in acupuncture
points near joints of dogs that have Osteoarthritis. The thinking is
that placing these gold beads in the acupuncture points helps to provide
a continuous acupuncture solution.
In recent years, there has been some experimental science performed
to see what the effects of inserting gold beads into the pressure points
of humans would be. The results of these studies are still inconclusive;
however there have been some signs that point to the reasoning that
gold beads can be helpful in relieving the pain and discomfort caused
by Osteoarthritis.
In the mean time, the gold beads will continue to be used on dogs. It
has been found that most dogs respond favorably to this treatment –
even over an extended period of time.
Researchers hope that those who elect to use this treatment on themselves
will find that long-term relief will come and will minimize the amount
of acupuncture therapy that one needs.
